May, 23rd.
Hiking from Pontevedra's to caldas de reis..only a 22kl (13.5 mile) walk today and it was really pretty. Leaving Pontevedra's early this morning and crossing the river de Pontevedra's in the dark
.we soon caught up to Sheryl and Christian who we have  crossed paths with for a few days now. Sheryl and I walked ahead and chatted till we reached a coffee shop at the 10 kl mark.

Christian is from Germany and Sheryl is from San Fransisco., Sheryl and I chatted for miles, and i found she has this great analogy of her life, based around the oxygen mask drop on an airplane, pretty interesting and very true. She conducts her life  using the wisdom of the flight steward on a plane, who says, 'if we experience a drop in pressure, a mask will drop from the cieling in front of you,,PUT YOUR MASK ON FIRST"There are some very intuitive and interesting people on the Camino, and I'm loving the chat time with many of them.

Its funny sometimes how the Camino has its say, walking along and belly aching about something, and this sign below comes up ahead of us
You sometime just have to smile and enjoy,,,,,and listen

Caldas de Reis is a small town of 10,000 and famous for its thermal baths that gush from the ground at a constant 40 C, and have done for millennia. The Celtic tribes first settled here,a and the thermal waters are what supports the tourism in this town.
grateful for THE MANY WATER FOUNTAIN ALONG THE way
But REALLY grateful for the natural hot springs on my feet after lunch, got happy toes now
sat in here at 108 F  for half an hour today. Coming into town we crossed this bridge into the old quarter over the river and found our lodgings.
A quick shower, a foot soak in town at the natural hot springs, and a little refreshment. Sardines and a glass of local red, called vino tinto( which means, any old crap will do ) , and yes this is how you drink wine the traditional way in this Provence of Galicia. a bowl
HOW FAR DID YOU SAY WE WERE WALKING?
