May 20, wednesday, from Rubiaes to Tui, crossing the river Mino into Spain, now I can order my food in a language iIbetter understand, and get what I thought I ordered more often.
So today was just 20 kilometers, LeAnn shipped her bag to Tui and walked today, her feet are good enough now to carry her bag and do tomorrows 31 k into a town in Galicia called Redondela. The clock changes an hour as we crossed into  Spain, so now we are at the Albergue for the night, taking an afternoon nap, then going into the village for dinner and to watch the UEFA CUP final,  looking forward to that.
Here is a bit of a pictorial of today
The cat in last nights Albergue had 3 kittens, and no, they are not coming home in my bag.
you see a lot of these, each village has at least one to wash clothes in, before washer/ dryers, but many are still used today, this one was in Ponte Nova
Breakfast coffee and pastry at 9am in Pacos.
Sheep herder on the Way, not looking too rushed about his day
Part of the Way just before lunch, Shirl nearly fell in

One of the many village churches, always open to the pilgrims

Into the town of Valence, all towns have hills, this has one, could we go around it for a change, NO, straight up and into the Valenca Castle, through the castle and its narrow alleys and shops, pretty cool place though, here we leave Portugal and cross into Spain.
Saying goodbye to Portugal, its been a pleasure thank you, now over the river Minho bridge and into the land of marinated anchovies

Crossing into Spain, got really chilly about now
Long day of 31 ll tomorrow, hills, time to train for it

Our Albergue is pretty nice for 10 euros a night, this is the garden area, and the strange building on stilts on the left in the top photo ,is a Corn Crib, you see a lot of then in the country areas, they are for the harvested corn, built high so the rats can't get at the corn. There will be no comment about the statue of an american.
I think I'll end today the right way..
