had a bit of a party saying goodbye, lucky the taperias was outside the window of our hostel, or I MIGHT have got some sleep, seems I had one beer too many, but no one could count by then anyway, so we will never know
With Caron from Germany, a recent cancer survivor who walked to regain her confidence, such a lovely lady. |
The bunch outside my window at 2am, at the taperia, a good night of goodbyes
I made it to mass and was lucky enough to be there when they did the incense ceremony, the original pilgrim when they arrived, smelled so bad and dirty, they were incensed and fumigated. The incense would be in a crucible being swund in the cathederal. Was very lucky to see the ceremony, as they dont do it every day. but for some reason I can't get the video onto this blog. I know John posted some video on his Facebook.
So, its over for this leg, and I feel like I have to say something profound. I'm never short of doing that, but I simply feel like the jobs not done. I am on the other hand, very excited to do one on my own. I leave to St Jean Pied du Port in France tomorrow, I have a 9 hour train ride and a 2 hour bus to get there. This is the end of this leg, so I will end the blog. I will start a new one and let you know how to find it.I will say that I an honored that so many of you find my ramblings that interesting, so I thank you for following me and I hope the next journey is a fun for one for all,, to date I have well over 2000 hits on this blog.
Buen Camino
